The shimano nexave reel is the 1st really heavy duty softbait reel on the shimano ladder. next up are straddic and twin power or baitrunner reels

the shimano backbone rod is a true performer with big fish on light line in mind. high content graphite means more power and better casting

there is a lighter 3-6kg backbone which is nicely matched to a 2500 nexave for $250.

I can add 6, 8, 20 or 15lb casting braid for $30 - $40 per 125 yds - berkley fireline, rapala titanium or nz made tasline
